Escher Goose
I’ve been enamored of M.C. Escher’s tessellations and transformations my whole life – the way they make you rethink and see again the relationship between filled and empty space, the connection between being and emptiness, and the sheer joy of making pieces fit and connect.
This based on his Bird No. 44, 1944, in ink and watercolor.
This right-facing Goose works as an appliqué, an embellishment, and, more directly, a motif to create a crochet fabric for pillows, throws, spreads or garments.
Using a G/4mm hook and aran weight acrylic, the Escher Goose is 8.5” long /21.6 cm X 8” wide/20.3cm with an F/3.75mm hook and the same yarn EG is 8” L /20.3 cm x 7.5” wide/19 cm ; 20-25 yards of yarn required.
You may use any yarn hook combination you choose, knowing that your size will vary from the dimensions stated.
