This is an intermediate level pattern, but it is fairly easy if you know your basic stitches, know how to work in rounds, and have some basic understanding of increasing. It’s a great pattern for a beginner who is ready to try their first medium-skill pattern.

This is not a tutorial. You will need to know your basic crochet stitches and techniques. But I do explain the special stitches step-by-step, and in as much detail as possible. If you have any questions or issues when using this pattern, please feel free to message me and I will try my best to help you.

Pattern Includes:

  • Instructions to crochet a hat in 7 sizes (newborn - large adult)
  • Size & Measurements Chart
  • Notes & Tips
  • Permission to sell finished items

Stitches Used:

  • Chain
  • Slip Stitch
  • Single Crochet
  • Half Double Crochet
  • Double Crochet
  • Eskimo Kiss Stitch (special stitch)

Materials Needed:
- Size H/8 (5MM) or I/9 (5.25 MM) Crochet Hook depending on your
tension - I used a 5.25 MM hook, but I crochet tightly. Some testers
had better results with a 5 MM hook.
- Worsted Weight 4 yarn - I used Loops & Threads Impeccable in the
colors Barley, Pale Grey, and True Grey. The amount you will need
varies by size but each hat takes less than 1 skein (285 yards/4.5oz).
You can make quite a few of the smaller sizes out of 1 skein. The
larger sizes will use ½ to ⅔ of a skein
- Furry yarn - I used Bernat Pipsqueak in the colors Whitey White,
Tickle Me Pink, and Baby Blue, but you can substitute any similar
furry type of yarn. You will only need a very small amount for each
hat, just enough for one round along the bottom edge.
