The Espiga Shawl is a light and airy lace shawl perfect for the spring and early fall days.

The samples were made with cotton yarn but you can use any yarn to make it more suitable for winter days. The lace pattern is easy to remember, resulting in a very meditative knitting project.

The pattern is written in US standard terms and includes instructions for small and large sizes. However, you can modify it to your preference and yarn availability.

It is recommended for beginner knitters.

SUGGESTED YARN:
The Cotton by We Are Knitters or any DK yarn that meets gauge.

YARDAGE:
Approximately 232 yards/212 m for the mini size or 437 yards/400m for the large size.

SUGGESTED GAUGE:
16 stitches x 20 rows in 4”/10cm swatch knit flat in stockinette with 5.5mm needles and wet blocked.
Gauge is not really important as it is a shawl, but this will give you a result closest to the sample.

APPROXIMATE FINISHED DIMENSIONS:
Mini shawl: 40” x 22” / 104cm x 56cm
Large shawl: 50” x 25” / 127cm x 63cm
