Esslie Scarf
This deceptively simple scarf makes the most of two colorful self-striping gradient yarns, playing them against one another in a pattern that uses only knits and purls. The result is a wonderfully colorful work that is easy to make and fun to wear! This is a great pattern for beginners - it looks like it was much harder to make than it is.
Schoppel Reggae not required - use any weight or style self-striping or ombre yarn, just adjust the number of starting stitches up or down. This yarn is worsted weight; to get to the 18” width, find out how many stitches are in a 4” gauge for the yarn you want to use, then multiply that number of stitches by 4.5 to get to the cast-on number for this scarf.
I love color! I can’t wait to see what you all do with this pattern. Enjoy!
