Esslyn is a simple and fun shawl-cowl hybrid which works up fast using worsted weight yarn, similar to it’s fingering weight partner, Esslyn Light. The cowl is worked flat like a top-down triangle shawl then joined to work in the round.

PATTERN NOTES
Esslyn is worked from the top down like a triangle shawl, then joined to work in the round once wide enough to go over your head when the ends are joined.

The simple cowl is worked in a plain double crochet sections broken up with mesh sections.

Increase 6 sts every row and round.

Move stitch marker up to center ch-1 sp each row/round.
