Estrid sweater is knitted top-down with raglan increases in a 2 knit/2 purl rib pattern. The body is finished with an 8 cm slit, where it is worked back and forth. The sleeves are knitted extra long to allow for a wide cuff to be folded back. The Estrid sweater is a slightly cropped design, with the body ending at the hips. Remember to add extra yarn if you wish to make a longer version.

Since the Estrid sweater is knitted in rib, it will contract as you work. To achieve the correct measurements, it is important to steam and/or wash the sweater before use. Stretch the sweater to the desired measurements while damp. It will retain this shape if laid flat to dry. The sweater should be stretched and dried in the same manner after subsequent washes.

Knit a swatch, which you should either steam or wash and block, to check the gauge before starting the sweater itself.
