Knit a pretty quick bandana cowl from worsted-weight yarn! Textured stitches make a simple project more interesting, and soft wool makes it a pleasure to knit and wear. Many knitters will find this to be a weekend project, or close.

This takes slightly more than a single skein of Malabrigo Yarn Rios (1.25 skeins, about), and the sample is shown in Frank Ochre, a very good yellow.

Materials:

  • 270 yards or about 1.25 skeins of Malabrigo Yarn Rios or similar worsted-weight yarn.
  • 1 16-24” circular needle in US7/4.5mm, or size needed for gauge.
  • Tapestry needle
  • 2 removable stitch marker

Gauge:
Gauge is 17 sts and 26 rows over 4”/10cm of blocked stockinette stitch, worked flat. Please be sure to check your gauge!

Measurements:
As shown, this cowl measures 21”/53cm deep through the center spine, and about 11”/28cm across the top, or 22”/56cm circumference.
