Etty’s Sister is a grandpa’s shirt with cap sleeves, created by the contiguous sleeve method. It shapes itself around the shoulders by its construction. It is knit top-down starting with a tubular rib forming a crew neck, that continues down in a deep button-through half placket. You can omit the top three buttons for a more open neckline (see pictures).

Size
Standard size with 5cm/2in of positive ease.

Yarn
The gauge fits a sports weight, or even a fingering depending on how you like the nature of your knit. Silk is more dense in its nature, therefore the model is knit with a dk weight on that same gauge and still with fluidity in its knit.

Choose a yarn that knits up to gauge.
Etty’s Sister can be knit in silk, cotton, linen, blends and in wool. Simply play with a swatch and find out what you get and what you like.
