"Euryale" a Unisex hat
Euryale is a unisex hat. In Greek mythology, Euryale (Εὐρυάλη) (pronounced UR-RYE-AH-LE) was one of the two Immortal Gorgons. The pattern is full of cables, symbolizing her intricate hairstyle full of snakes. It has been adapted for knitting a hat on the Rnd. It has a lot of versatility, for many shapes and head sizes.
This hat is very stretchy, and your ribbing will be deceivingly small compared to the size when it is worn. There are two gauges, the Stockinette gauge and the ribbing gauge. These will give you the appropriate size measurement. Take into consideration that there is negative ease of about 6 inches. Quoting from Techknitting.com “hats are an every-day example of NEGATIVE ease: made SMALLER than heads, hats cling because they have to stretch to fit.” It has the possibility of being reversible!
I hope that you will discover your favorite style, tam, beanie, or a slouchy. Make one for you and one for a friend.
