Evan's Blanket
This is a “Join-As-You-Go” Blanket. It is started in the center with additional squares added around the center square. There is a photo and written tutorial to show this method of joining.
I started out with 2 skeins of each color I used. When I reach the size I wanted, (52” x 52”) I had enough yarn to add an 8 round edging.
After being washed, dried and blocked, I was left with a blanket 56” x 56” (4.5’ x 4.5’). It was made as a baby gift, but I wanted it to be larger so he could use it longer.
This blanket is easily adapted to be a smaller blanket or a larger blanket. A chart is added to show what the layout would be for a 84” x 84” (7’ x 7’) blanket without an edging.
I have also included a chart where you may list up to 40 different yarn colors/numbers, if you choose to do your blanket in a different set of colors. This will allow you to make a blanket without the same color touching itself.
