This close-fitting sleeveless pullover is the ultimate in elegant wear, whether it’s for day or night. The ribbed lower body and stockinette bust are worked in a luxurious silk/wool blend, while the upper bodice and generous cowl collar are worked in lacy baby alpaca. A few buttons at the back add functional allure.
Finished Size About 33 (37, 41, 45, 49, 53)“ (84 94, 104, 114.5, 124.5, 134.5 cm) bust circumference and 27½ (31, 35½, 39, 43, 47½)” (70 78.5, 90, 99, 109, 120.5 cm) waist circumference. Designed to be worn with 1” (2.5 cm) of positive ease. Pullover shown measures 33” (84 cm) bust circumference.
Yarn Cascade Venezia Worsted (70% merino wool, 30% silk; 219 yd 200 m/100 g): #159 Ruby (MC), 3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 5) skeins; Cascade Alpaca Lace (100% baby alpaca; 437 yd 400 m/50 g): #1415 Red Wine Heather (CC), 1 (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) skein(s). Worsted weight (#4 Medium) and laceweight (#0 Lace).
Needles Upper body stockinette: size U.S. 6 (4 mm): straight or 24” (60 cm) or longer circular (cir); Lower body rib: size U.S. 5 (3.75 mm): straight or 24” (60 cm) or longer cir; Sheer upper body and collar: size U.S. 4 (3.5 mm): 16” and 24” (40 and 60 cm) cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); removable markers; tapestry needle; 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4) 5⁄8” (1.5 cm) buttons.
Gauge 20 sts and 28 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st with MC on largest needles; 26 sts and 30 rows = 4” (10 cm) in k2, p1 rib (slightly stretched) with MC on middle-size needles; 28 sts and 44 rows = 4” (10 cm) in St st with CC on smallest needles.
