This Evelyn Top is worked top down with a faux button band. Straps are provisionally cast on and increases are done for the neckline and armhole, then stitches are placed on hold. The back of the tank top is worked in a similar fashion before joining the back, left and right fronts together. The body is knit straight in the round with a faux purl seam (which will be later covered by the button band) down the centre front. I-cord edges line the armholes and neckline before finishing with a faux double knit button band. Buttons are sewn onto this button band then seamed down using mattress stitch. You will also find 2 different options for straps in this pattern (thick or thin) as well as options to knit without the button band.
