Will need blocking. This pattern uses a chart for the characters and then finishes the rest of the scarf using the tiny bamboo stitch.
The finished scarf measures 6”x40”, but can be lengthened or shortened by adding or removing repeats from row 112-192 which is the tiny bamboo portion. Each repeat measures approximately 1/2”.
The characters 猿も木から落ちる mean “Saru mo ki kara ochiru” or “Even monkeys fall from trees” is a Japanese proverb meaning even experts can make mistakes.
