Die Longweste hat eine ausgestellte Form und wird von oben nach unten ganz ohne Nähte nach einer Variation der Contiguous-Methode von Susie Myers gestrickt. Das Muster ist recht einfach, nur glatt rechts und kraus rechts. Dadurch eignet sich die Weste als Einstiegsmodell in diese Methode.
Sie hat eine Länge von ca. 76 cm.

Die Anleitung enthält detaillierte schriftliche Beschreibungen für folgende Maße: Schulterbreite 36 cm, Ärmeltiefe 24 cm, Brustumfang etwa 110 cm.
Größentabellen mit Reihen- und Maschenangaben für Schulterbreiten von 30 bis 50 cm, Ärmeltiefen von 18 bis 36 cm und einen Brustumfang von 80 bis 150 cm sind ebenfalls enthalten.
Zusätzlich ist eine ausführliche Anleitung der Contiguous-Methode mit diversen Bildern enthalten.

Für die in der Anleitung detailliert beschriebenen Maße werden etwa 1400m eines 4-fädigen Farbverlaufsgarns benötigt. Zusätzlich wird folgendes Zubehör benötigt:

• Rundstricknadel der Stärke 3,5, Länge mindestens 80 cm
• Rundstricknadel der Stärke 3, Länge 80 cm
• Rundstricknadel der Stärke 3, Länge 40 cm
• 4 Maschenmarkierer
• Zwei Hilfsnadeln zum Stilllegen von Maschen.

The vest has an A-line shape and is worked seamlessly top-down in one-piece. Its shape is achieved by using a variation of the Contiguous method by Susie Myers.
It is perfect for Contiguous beginners because of the easy pattern – you only work stockinette and garter stitch.
Length of the vest: ca. 30‘‘ (76 cm).

The pattern consists of detailed written descriptions for the following size: shoulder length 14.2‘‘ (36 cm), armhole depth 9.4‘‘ (24 cm), bust 43‘‘ (110 cm). In addition you will find tables with numbers of rows and stitches for the following additional sizes: shoulder length from 11.8’’ to 19.7’’; armhole depth from 7.1’’ to 14.2’’; bust from 31.5’’ to 59’’.
You find a detailed general description of the Contiguous method with pictures as part of the pattern, too.

For the sizes shown in detail in the pattern you need 1530 yards (1400m) of a gradient yarn of fingering weight. In addition you need:

• Circular knitting needle of size US 4 (3.5mm), length ca. 30‘‘ (80 cm)
• Circular knitting needle of size US 2.5 (3mm), length ca. 15‘‘ (40 cm)
• Circular knitting needle of size US 2.5 (3mm), length ca. 30‘‘ (80 cm)
• 4 markers
• 2 stitchholders.
