The Call The Midwife Blanket is a very popular pattern. It is so loved because it is easy to do and pleasing to the eye. I have only seen a couple other variations of this blanket. I thought it would be nice to have one for the Winter holidays.

I have made mine in a baby blanket or lapghan size, but you are welcome to make yours as large as you want. With this pattern, it is easy to change the width and length you want to make. I used a baby weight #3 yarn, but you could easily use another size yarn and corresponding hook. We will be making a built-in border for this blanket. You are welcome to add an additional border around the outside if you want to, but I think a built-in border helps make this pattern more beginner friendly.

My finished blanket is 32” long and 33” wide. If you are a tight crocheter, you may need to go up a hook size to achieve the same results as mine.
