This pattern makes three separate evergreen trees. One skein of green worsted weight yarn is more than enough for all three trees with some left over.
The smallest tree in the trio is approximately 7.5” in circumference at its largest point and 5” tall. The medium tree is approximately 8.25” in circumference by 6” tall; and the largest tree is approximately 9.5” in circumference by 7” tall.
You will need polyester fiber fill for the green part of the tree and plastic poly pellets for the trunk.
Gauge for this pattern is not particularly important. Just make sure that your stitches are small enough that the plastic poly pellets do not poke through the trunk!
The opportunities are endless with this pattern! You can make the trio of trees as written or make all of your trees one size. You can add a string to the top of the smallest tree and hang it in your window or on your Christmas tree. The smallest tree would also make a great baby rattle, just use stuffing instead of poly pellets for children under 3!!
