This blanket is knitted bottom up with border as part of the blanket pattern. It measures around 29” square depending on your knitting tension. The border consists of double moss stitch, and the blanket features a small 16 stitch lacework pattern featuring yarn overs, slipped stitches and k2tog before becoming a mindful practice of knit stitch. The reverse side is mainly purl stitches that will give you that beautiful stockinette effect.

Each pattern repeat contains 16 rows which measures 9cm/ 3.5”
10 pattern repeats are done making “inside the border” measure 25” top to bottom.

I used 210g (just over two 100g balls) of Paintbox Simply DK in Pistachio Green.

This blanket was designed to honour my Grandpops 100th Birthday, and naming ceremony as he was Polish. Given the events in the world right now, this blanket came as multiple inspiration to create an heirloom that links the love we share between our families, our children and our memories of those we love and have lost.

You will need 2 stitch markers to identify where your border stitches start to make the knitting process smoother.
