The design of this sock features the lacework being slightly to the left for one sock, and slightly to the right for the other sock (It is not off centre - it’s been designed that way).

The sock is knitted top/cuff down in a seamless and easy method. The heel is constructed using a magic heel method rather than heel flaps and gussets.

The pattern is initially for a mid-ankle length sock, but the leg can easily be modified to increase the length of the sock depending upon your personal preference.

I used sock yarn as did my testers from a variety of stores. The cuff and toe used around 9g of yarn, and the body of the sock used 20g for which I used a mini-skein of sock yarn. For a longer sock, it would either require a 50g skein per sock, or additional 20g skeins.
A pair of socks should be completed with 100g of sock yarn (including the cuff and toe contrast if required).

I’d advise you to have two stitch markers, one more easily identifiable than the other to mark your beginning of round to make the knitting project easy and mindful.

The lacework pattern repeat is 16 rows that each measures at 3.25cm per repeat.

Cast on instructions given for the following: 56/60/64/68/72

The pattern is written fully for both left and right socks so it is very easy to follow and guides you through the process with grace and ease.

The sock was designed as part of my Everlasting Union collection inspired by my Mum and Dad’s wedding rings. t I am designing and releasing the collection this year to mark personal and significant milestones within my family. My grandparents would have been celebrating their 100th birthday this year, along with their 70th wedding anniversary. My father would have celebrated his birthday on 9th April 2022 (The date I released this pattern).

So to mark the everlasting union of love between myself and loved ones I have created this pattern to enjoy knitting and wearing garments with a meaning behind them.
