Everybody Loves Me!
This cute lightweight poncho is shaped like a raglan sweater, so it stays in place, and isn’t too bulky or awkward to wear.
This is a great project for fingering weight stash yarn, skeins don’t all have to be the exact same base, or be full skeins… the notes at the end of the pattern include approximate yardages so that you can dig through your precious stash and incorporate favourites, or partials, as you wish. Whatever you choose, everybody will love it!
You will need around 400 grams sock yarn, in four or five (or more) shades that you like together.
Colors A and B will be worked together in two row stripes, so there should be at least a little contrast between them, they can be completely different colors if you prefer, but they should look good next to each other.
Colors A and C will be worked together in brioche so they should have good contrast so that the brioche really shows (you don’t have to use Color A again, you could use two new colors if you like).
Color D is your ‘contrast’ color, it’s the narrow solid stripes between sections. In my example, I have chosen a color that contrasts quite significantly against the other colors.
Color E is your edging color. (if you only have four colors, D & E can be the same color.
This is a pattern, to make the exact thing you see in the pictures - if you want to be a little bit more creative with your yarns or your stitches/sizing, skip to the end for a summary of how you could adapt it if you wanted to.
