This is an easy knitting pattern suitable for knitters of all standards.

The Evie Cardigan is totally seamless, apart from the shoulder seaming which you can seam with 3 needle bind off if you wish; this means more knitting, less seaming YAY!
The Evie Cardigan is knitted up flat and in the round for the sleeves in one piece from the waist up! It is very easily customisable in terms of length and colour, and because it’s knitted up with chunky needles it’s a pretty quick knit too!
There are plenty of yarn combinations you can use to make this knit, just make sure you get the correct gauge to get the right fit!

Ease

The Evie Cardigan has been designed to have between 20-25cm/ 8-10” of positive ease, meaning that it will be roomy. Please size up or down if you wish for a looser or more snug fit.
In the picture on the title page, I am wearing a Size 3 and I have a 34” bust!

Tension
In stocking stitch, with 8mm needles, working flat (one row knit, one row purl):
10cm/4’’ x 10cm/4’’ = 10 stitches/17 rows

Materials
Size 8mm circular needles (or whichever size needle gets you the correct gauge) with an 80cm cord or longer and a shorter cord for the neckline ribbing.
I used an 80cm cord for the entire cardigan and used the magic loop technique for the top of the sleeves!
Please use whatever size needles needed to get correct gauge
Size 6mm circular needles for the ribbing
BOR stitch marker
Stitch holder or scrap yarn to hold stitches
Darning needle for weaving in ends
3 x 20-30mm buttons! I got mine from etsy!

Yarn amounts
Because this pattern is a stash buster and different types of yarn can be heavier than others (e.g. cotton is heavier than merino) it is quite tricky to get an approximate yarn amount for this pattern. Please use the measurements below as a guide and note that if you’re using animal fibres or cotton your make will be heavier
If using Double Knitting (DK) weight yarn made from acrylic with three strands held together you will need 500, 540, 620, 700, (870, 920, 990, 1040) grams
If using Aran/Worsted weight yarn made from acrylic with two strands held together you will need 500, 540, 620, 700, (870, 920, 990, 1040) grams
If using Chunky weight yarn you will need between 500 and 1100 grams

Techniques/ abbreviations:
Knit: K
Purl: P
CO: Cast on
BO: Bind off
RS/WS: Right side of work- knit stitches facing you/wrong side of work- purl stitches facing you
K2tog: Knit two stitches together
P2tog: Purl two stitches together
SSK: Slip Slip Knit
Stocking Stitch worked in the round: knit every stitch, on every row!
Stocking Stitch worked flat: Working repeats of two rows: Row- 1 knit all stitches, Row 2- purl all stitches
3 Needle Bind Off
Join in the round
