Evita is a crocheted scarf, showcasing Tunisian Entrelac. Since only 8 stitches are on the hook at one time, you can use a regular hook that does not have a tapered shaft. Color is very important! The solid and variegated yarns must be in high contrast so there is no blending or blurring of colors.

This pattern was sold in the past by Foxyknits, a company that specializes in selling Koigu yarns. KPM and KPPPM are fingering/sock weight. Two hook sizes are specified because it is so important to make loose slip stitches. Tunisian crochet can be dense, so larger hooks (H and I) are used to get the drape. And blocking is a must!

This pattern was developed before the popularity of Tunisian Entrelac, so you will find that the directions are a bit different and thus there is quite a bit of “hand holding.” However, once you catch on as to how the units are made, the process becomes easy and rhythmical. At first, making a unit “out in space” seems awkward, but it is done to accentuate the bias nature of the scarf.
