Evja
These are the September mittens for The Selbu Mitten Club II. They are made using two 50g skeins of the Norwegian DK weight yarn Rauma 3 ply Strikkegarn, one for each colour. These are relatively simple and quick to knit up, using traditional geometrical charts from the Selbu region of Norway.
These mittens were named after a number of old farms in Selbu, dating at least back to the 16th century. An evje refers to a diverting part of a river that’s typically more shallow and still, suitable for log driving or for taking a refreshing swim.
I hope you will enjoy this pattern, and if you need any help this topic in my group is the best place for support.
