Evoke
This pattern is named Evoke because working with a handspun yarn calls forth the senses in a way that commercial yarns sometimes don’t. The colors vary and change in almost every row, keeping interest in a simple ribbed pattern.
This pattern is appropriate for any sport weight yarn and would look lovely with variegated yarns, or solids.
This unisex can be slouched down on the head, or rolled for extra warmth on the ears. The rib pattern keeps it on your head, but is light enough that it won’t give you a helmet head.
One size fits most. The hat stretches to accommodate most adult heads. I use the magic loop method to knit hats, but you may also use DPNs if that is more familiar and comfortable. If you are interested in magic loop and want a tutorial, you can find great resources at Knitttinghelp.com and a video specifically about magic loop here: http://www.knittinghelp.com/video/play/magic-loop
