Exmouth Shawl
This is a modern shawl designed to be versatile and timeless. It would make a great warming layer for winter beach walks, or a cover up for summer evening barbeques on the beach. The design is based on Exmouth beach, the ebbing and flowing of the tide and the weathered and uneven wooden tidal breaks that break up the beach along my walk. This is a sideways shawl construction to follow my walk at the tide edge.
Skill Level – Beginner to intermediate
Yarn – 2 lots of 200g (7.05oz) /256m (280y) of 9wpi average, which is an Aran/heavy worsted weight. My yarn is handspun from my own hand dyed fibre, but you could easily use commercial yarn. I used around half of the second skein.
Needles – 100cm/40” circulars 5.5mm/US9
VERSION 2 released 27th August 2014.
