About a year ago my very dear friend Victoria moved from Toronto to England. As a going away present I agreed to knit a hat for her. She picked out some Casbah sock yarn in a lovely colour. I wasn’t able to find a pattern that would be able to handle the colour changes of the yarn without pooling horribly, so this pattern was born. The seed stitch creates a lovely texture to showcase the handpainted colours in so many sock yarns. This pattern named itself, as Victoria is currently working as an au pair. In honor of the most famous Nanny in English Literature, it became Expialadocious.
