Once a nerd, always a nerd… After having so much fun with the Police Box MKAL, I just had to create another accessory to match and keep your head warm in style!

I thought the Daleks were such a blast on the cowl, and now they make their sentiments known boldly on this fun hat: EXTERMIKNIT!
I used Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sport in two colors to match the cowl.

About the pattern:

The pattern level is intermediate; it features several areas of stranded colorwork and is knit in the round. It is sized for an average adult head.
The hat goes well with the Police Box Cowl from the MKAL.

Materials:

2 skeins of Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sport (2 oz / 200 yds) in contrasting colors
OR 140 yds of sport weight yarn for the MC and 90 yds of sport weight yarn for the CC
Used for the samples:
Darker blue sample: 1 skein each of ‘Bigger on the Inside’ (MC) / ‘Fjord’(CC) – this matches what colors were in the official Police Box kit.
Lighter blue sample: 1 skein each of ‘Cermak’ (MC) / ‘Aqua’ (CC).

Size 3.5mm / US 4 16” circular needle and DPNs (or size to obtain gauge)
Stitch Markers, Darning needle

Gauge: 24 sts x 24 rows = 4” / 10cm in stockinette, unblocked
