Eyelet & Feather Socks
The book has the 8” size. My pattern has two sizes: 8” and 9” unstretched. My pattern is sized for -1” of ease.
This sock features an easily memorized lace pattern which would be suitable for advanced beginners, while the unique construction will keep the attention of experienced sock knitters.
The gusset decreases are moved to the bottom of the foot to allow the lace pattern to continue uninterrupted down the instep and side of the foot. The pattern indicates where to place stitch markers to better track the decrease points.
Both text and charts of the pattern stitch are included.
Here is a note I had in the original version of the pattern that isn’t in the book that might help with the patterning on the side of the foot:
The sole and toe are worked in st st.
The second half of the pattern is worked on the end of Needle 1 and the first half of the pattern is worked on the beginning of Needle 4. For the part of the pattern on the side of the foot, work either the SSK or K2Tog decrease instead of the S1, K2Tog, PSSO decrease.
