The eyelet column cowl uses faux cables and double yarnovers to create an elegant and interesting pattern. Slight ribbing makes the cowl hug your neck just a little, but there’s plenty of fabric for ducking your chin into when the wind blows. You can, of course, adjust the ease and height by working more or fewer pattern repeats or chart repeats. (Instructions for modification included.)

The pattern looks best in solid or semi-solid colors, but could be excellent in a pooling hand-dyed yarn as well. And, of course, since it’s a garment meant to be worn next to the neck and face, is perfect for the softest, most sumptuous yarns in your stash.
