Don’t be fooled by the ornate look of the lace pattern; this pattern is perfect for the knitter that knows all the basic stitches, and is ready to be challenged just a bit. Knowledge of the following would help in making your cowl: basic knit stitches, yarn overs, slipped stitches, passing slipped stitches over, basic sewing (for the buttons).
