This cute little cardi knits up quickly. I knit my samples in Cascade 220 Superwash and Sirdar Snuggly Baby Care DK using the same size needles.

The bottom of the sweater can be changed easily by using a different lace pattern - or just stockinette stitch.

Knittingfor6 made it as a basic cardi by leaving out the design. It came out so cute!

***** Oops….sorry. redroseknit sent me an e-mail telling me about an error in the Eyelet Top-Down Cardi. It’s at the end and hopefully you’d catch it yourself but until I get the download fixed, here’s an update:

In the body portion of the sweater:

Row 11 is a right side row - follow the written directions.

Row 12 is a purl row.

Row 13 can be followed as written.

Row 14: is a wrong side row and should be K4, purl across to last 4 sts, K4.
Row 15: This becomes a repeat of Row 11 as written.
Row 16: K4, purl across to last 4 sts, K4.

Knit 3 rows for garter stitch edging. Bind off.

A correction for rows 14 through 16 has been made in the Ravelry file as of March 15, 2009. So if you download the pattern after that date, you will have the updated pattern.
