Is there anything more special than a pair of hand knitted socks? These knitted pairs are the ones that are reached to again and again in my drawer and keep my feet toasty, whilst bringing some joy to the dark cold days of winter. These socks were inspired by the Gorse flowers which pepper the coastal paths where I live.
Eythin is the Cornish word for Gorse and this top down sock alludes to this distinctive yellow flower and the blues of the sea.

Yarn

4 ply sock yarn of your choice in two colours.
The sample uses The Camel’s Yarn standard sock base (75% superwash merino and 25% nylon). Falmouth Bay - an exclusive colourway to my local yarn store, Stitches and Cream (main colour) and Turmeric Latte (contrast colour). (100g = approx. 425m / 465y). I was able to easily get two pairs of size 2 socks out of 2 x 100g balls.

Sizing

3 sizes with a finished foot circumference of 17.5, 20.5 or 23cm. The pattern is designed to have a slight negative ease for a snug fit.
