Ezra the Baby Eagle
Notes:
This would be considered an advanced beginner skill level pattern. It is made mostly by single crochet, but you must have a clear understanding of single crochet increase/decrease, double crochet, blo, and flo!
Materials:
You will need yarn, 3.50 mm crochet hook, 2.00 mm crochet hook, tapestry needle, stitch markers, scissors, 16.00 mm safety eyes, and poly-fill for stuffing!
Let’s talk about yarn!
You will need #4 worsted weight yarn for this project. I used less than 50 yards of Red Heart Super Saver in the color buff for the head. I used less than 50 yards of Red Heart Super Saver in the color coffee. You will need a scrap amount of yellow for the beak as well as a scrap amount of orange for the feet. I used Big Twist Value Yarn for those. Feel free to use any brand or color you would like as long as it is #4 worsted weight yarn!
Final Measurements:
Your finished eagle will measure 4 1/2 inches tall!
Gauge:
Gauge is not extremely important for this pattern. You just want your stitches to be tight enough that poly-fill won’t poke out.
Abbreviations:
-Ch: chain
-Sl st: slip stitch
-Sc: single crochet
-Inc: increase
-Dec: decrease
-Blo: back loops only
-Flo: front loops only
-Dc: double crochet
