Fabulous Fresco Beaded Cowl
I can’t be any more in love with this yarn!
It’s a breeze to bead knit. It has an incredibly soft hand with the added delight of angora promising to bloom as it is handled. It’s lightweight, yet warm. I know I want to knit one in every color for everyone in my life☺
Enjoy two patterns for this beaded cowl. I’ve written it as a beaded moebius cowl, and I’ve also added directions for a simple Infinity cowl knit in the round and not twisted. The Moebius has a 180-degree twist, which is created at the join of the special cast on. Rounds of knitting grow from the center of the work to the outsides. The Infinity Cowl version is knit from a cast on to bound off edge.
Beading Information
It is essential to use only the best quality seed beads for restringing onto yarn. Using the dental floss threader, prestring approx. 300 beads (20 grams) of TOHO 6/0 seed beads onto each hank of yarn. You will need 40 grams of beads for the entire project.
This is a helpful U-Tube video for stringing beads onto the yarn using a dental floss threader: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtTCeehuSFw
I use a fleece mat on a flat table surface rather than hold the beads in my hand. Fleece fabric is available at any fabric store. Cut a small square to use for bead stringing. Beads are available at many of the LYSs and online at: http://www.bobbybead.com
