Faded Gauge Top
This is a recipe for a top-down circular yoke. The width of the yoke is solely controlled by varying yarn weight and needle sizes to create a “faded gauge”. The faded gauge shapes the color down to the chest. The sample version was knitted using a lace wight yarn held double, threefold, or sixfold to continuously increase gauge.
SIZES
The pattern was graded for kids. Size 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) correspond to 6-12 months (1-2 years, 2-3 years, 3-5 years, 5-7 years, 7-9 years). The sample version was knitted in size 5.
MATERIAL
Any lace weight yarn with a total yardage of 975 (975, 1454, 1950, 1950, 2429) meters / 1066 (1066, 1590, 2133, 2133, 2656) yards.
The sample version was knitted using Felix by La Bien Aimée (75% Falkland Merino, 25% Corriedale), 650 meters/710 yards/100 g, lace weight. Colorway: “As If”.
