Sleeping during the day after a hard night’s japing and trickery can be difficult. Block out all the troubling daylight and you’ll be fresh as a daisy for another night of fooling mortals.

I designed this pattern as a companion for my contribution to the June 2010 Phat Fiber Sample box “Midsummer’s night dream”.

This butterfly sleeping mask is knit in one piece, starting with the right wing, dividing for the upper right
wing, I cord finishing that section and then working the lower right wing and right ear loop. Stitches are picked up at the cast on row and a nose section is knit with a second color in short rows and left wing is knit from the
nose section in the same order as right wing. I used ear loops instead of a tie around the back of the head
instead because it holds better and does not mess up your hair. Surface crochet in a second color finishes
the mask.
