Faeroese footlets
Uses 2 to 3 ounces of wool (not polyester / acrylic / superwash)
The Faeroese don’t wear shoes in the house. Instead, they pad around in knit footlets. These soft “shoes” are comfortable for weavers, add warmth inside boots, and help prevent one from slipping on ice when they’re pulled over boots. Footlets also make wonderful bed socks. There are probably as many variations on this basic pattern as there are Faeroese knitters.
Alternate:
2 to 3 ounces of 3-ply (light fingering) wool, size 0 needles, gauge 6 st, 8 1/2 rows per 1 inch
