Faileas (noun) : reflection, shadow (Scottish Gaelic).

Show off a beautiful fingering weight yarn in two colours reflecting each other with a cowl which is a simple joy to knit. Linen stitch and slipped stitches combine to create a stunning effect.

Materials -
142 yards/130m of each colour fingering weight yarn for short version.

212 yards/194m of each colour fingering weight yarn for long version.

4mm (US 6) circular needle of length required for cowl length: at least 16” for both but 24” could be used for longer cowl.

Stitch marker and tapestry needle.

Measurements-
Longer cowl: 102cm/40” circumference X 24cm/9.5” height. This is a chest length version which is designed to sit around your shoulders or draped to cover the chest. It is just about long enough to wrap around twice but would be very snug.

Fitted cowl: 66cm/26” circumference X 24cm/9.5” height.

The pattern gives options for the two lengths but the length and height can be adjusted to any size you like. Tips for doing this are given in the pattern. Please note: adjusting size will change your yardage requirements.
