This is a pattern for a classic and timeless fair isle beanie. If you are new to fair isle, this is a great introductory project as it only uses two colors, the rows are simple repeats, and the pattern includes an easy to read chart. The fun repetitions, clear instructions, and larger needles make this hat a quick project and your hat will be ready to wear in no time!

You’ll need:

  • US 10 (6 mm) 16” circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge)

  • US 10 (6mm) DPNs or long circular needles for Magic Loop method (or size needed to obtain gauge)

  • Two colors of heavy worsted/aran weight yarn

  • A tapestry needle, scissors, and one stitch marker

  • A pom-pom maker (optional, but encouraged!)
