Fair Isle Love is an afterthought heel top-down sock pattern. This is a great first-time colorwork pattern because these socks have no large gaps in colorwork making it a good intro to fair isle. Choose any color combination you want. Go traditional or your favorite sport team colors. I hope you enjoy knitting these as much as I did.

Size: S ( M, L, ExL) Shoe size 4-6(7-9, 10-12, 12+) Foot Circum 7 in(8 in, 9 in, 10 in)

Needles: 1 US (2mm) DPN, 36” or longer circular for magic loop, or 9” circular
Notions: Stitch markers, 8 in of waste sock yarn, and yarn needle

Gauge: 40 sts over 4 inches (10 sts/inch) and 10 rows per inch

Yarn Requirements: You are going to need two skeins of sock-weight yarn. At least one of them should be a solid color. 100g of each color minimally or 330-420 yards of each.

Notes / Helpful Notes: This pattern is a fair isle afterthought heel top-down sock pattern. There is a negative ease of a standard sock pattern. There is a break in the colorwork chart to indicate when to knit in the afterthought heel. Also if you are concerned about your socks being too tight you can knit with 1.5 US or 2 US needles. I prefer knitting with 1.5 US size needles because I can get tight with my gauge. Choosing a yarn with some nylon will help with durability and stretch
