A lace edging is knit sideways using a variation of the ‘Indian Cross’ stitch. The edging is turned and the stitches picked up along the top then the body of the scarf is knitted from these stitches in the round with fair isle sections (using 5 colours of the Miniballs) are knitted at the start and end of the scarf. The tube is then closed and the lace edging knitted on sideways across these stitches.

It uses about 100g of the main colour of the JC Rennie 4ply (Supersoft Lambswool 4ply, Unique Shetland or Lambswool Cashmere 4ply) and 5 x 10g miniballs for the contrast fair isle section.
