Fairies Autumn Frolic
The fairies love this time of year, the smell of cinnamon and nutmeg in the air and the trees putting on one last burst of color before they go to sleep until spring… okay, maybe we’re rushing things just a teeny bit, but I think everyone is ready for fall and what better way to prepare for it than to knit up a gorgeous, soft, squishy hug?
NO ONE PANIC!!!! There are NO short rows of any kind, despite how it looks!!!!
This might be the “perfect” knit and bitch shawl - seriously! So go ahead, grab two skeins of your favorite colors (be sure to check the info on yardage!) and get together with some friends or join our KAL on my Criminal Knits…for the Serial Knitter in all of us Group!
Our KAL will start Friday, September 2nd sometime between 9 and noon EST.
Materials:
YARDAGE WARNING: Ignore at your own risk.
1 skein 465 yds in a solid
1 skein 465 yds in anything you want - speckled, variegate, whatever
Just be sure they look great together!!!
If you have some 400 yd skeins you just HAVE to use, try and find a mini or two in the same color, or something close to it to make up the yardage. Close is fine, this pattern is very forgiving but you will run out of yarn before the last bit if you don’t have the yardage. Just sayin’.
Needles: Most of my test knitters used a US Size 6. If you are a very loose knitter and you know who you are, I’d recommend a US Size 5. You want a nice flowy fabric so you might want to swatch a bit in garter stitch.
So, Needles: US Size 6 circular needles in 16”, 24” and 40”
Beverages: A pumpkin latte sounds nice, or get a jump on the season with some mulled wine?
