I participate in live action role play and I found that I needed padding across the back of my hands. While I did consider basic fingerless gloves I needed a good grip on my sword. I had a pair of fingerless gloves that I loved the pattern on and they added a nice cushion to the back of the hand. The main idea behind this design is Fireworks Fingerless Mitts by Megan Bayonet. I am simply modifying it to work for my needs.
I have tucked a piece of protective foam under the top, against my knuckles. If it works I’ll sew it in, otherwise I’ll try different foam.
