This pattern is exclusive to Super Sock Scarefest 2024, but will be available for purchase from mid-November 2024.

This sock design for Super Sock Scarefest is inspired by The Moth Diaries. The design on these socks includes a Japanese-style lace moth motif inspired by the luna moth from the heroine’s favourite memory of her father. There are also small cable and ribbing stitches that suggest the complex, changing relationships between the characters in the ‘is she or isn’t she a vampire’ theme. This shorty sock is knit toe-up with a short row heel incorporating mini gussets, and has a turn-back cuff with a hint of a frill.

The sock illustrated in the pattern uses Yarnsmiths Merino Sock in the colour Pistachio (2K198). A solid, semi-solid or tonal shade of ethereal or luminous green is recommended if you want to evoke the luna moth itself (e.g. chartreuse, light moss, celadon, pistachio, light lime, apple green, etc.) But may be knit in any 4 ply/fingering sock yarn.
