Fairycore is a semicircular shawl worked flat from the top down. This shawl is inspired by dresses that seem to come out of fairy tales, made up of several layers, adorned with lace, bows, ruffles, and held together with a corset. I wanted to represent the different textures and layers of these dresses in a knitted fabric.

Construction
It is knitted from the top down using the half Pi shawl formula to obtain the semi-circular shape. Segments worked in mohair alternate with segments worked in merino; each mohair segment has a different lace pattern, while each merino segment has a different combination of textures, mainly cables. At the end of the merino segments, rows are worked in a contrasting color and a fold is created to form a ruffle separating the merino from the mohair. The merino segments are decorated with scrap yarn in a contrasting color, creating bows, bubbles, and duplicate stitches.

Yarn A: Taller de Sueños Merino natural (100% Merino 20.5 microns / 2 ply; DK weight, 250m / 274yds per 100g skein).

• Color: 15-fuego (cd0.1), 2 skeins or 600m / 665yds of DK weight yarn.

Yarn B: Tejedora Chile Kid Mohair Lace (65% Kid Mohair, 35% Silk, lace weight, 500m / 547yds per 50g skein).

• Color: n° 23, 2 skeins or 750m / 820yds of lace weight yarn. (held together).

Yarn C: Revesderecho Merino (100% merino wool, 4 ply, sport weight, 174m / 190yds per 50g skein).

• Color: merino-Crudo-0003, 2 skeins or 348m /380yds of sport weight yarn.

Yarn D (optional): Katia Arte Mercerized Cotton (100% Cotton, DK weight, 165m / 180yds per 50g skein)

• Color: 31 Coral, 1 skein or 50m / 55yds of DK weight yarn.

Gauge
23 sts x 35 rows = 10 cm / 4″, with Yarn A and Yarn B held double (you need to swatch with each yarn) over stockinette stitch worked flat on 4 mm / US 6 needles, measured after blocking.

Fairycore es un chal semicircular tejido plano desde arriba hacia abajo. Este chal está inspirado en vestidos que parecen sacados de cuentos de hadas, conformados por varias capas, decorados con encaje, lazos, vuelos y sujetados con un corset. Quise representar las diferentes texturas y capas de estos vestidos en un tejido.

Construcción
Se teje desde arriba hacia abajo usando la fórmula Pi shawl a la mitad para obtener la forma semi-circular. Se alternan segmentos tejidos en mohair con segmentos tejidos en merino; cada segmento de mohair tiene un punto encaje diferente, mientras que cada segmento de merino tiene una combinación diferente de texturas, principalmente trenzas. Al finalizar los segmentos de merino se tejen filas en un color contrastante y se crea un doblez para formar un vuelo separando el merino del mohair. Los segmentos de merino son decorados con restos de hilado en color contrastante creando lazos, burbujas y puntos en relieve.
