This is inspired by the Luck Dragon Falkor. Knit with 100% wool and felted. Details added with needle felting technique. This is a 19-page tutorial with pictures and diagrams. I tried to include as much detail as possible but I am available for pattern support!

You will need 100% wool yarn (I used Lion Brand Fishermen’s Wool)- one skein is plenty, and size 8 circular needles. I do include an idea for creating without the felting method using “fuzzy” yarn- I have not tried this pattern out with the yarn, but wanted to include it for an alternative :)

This pattern is written to use the magic loop knitting method, though you could use DPNs if you prefer.
You will also need white, black, and brown felting wool for detailing, although you may chose to use premade safety eyes. Polymer clay is used to make the nose, but it may be felted or you may use a safety nose instead. Scales are made with sequin trim
