Fall Festival Shawl
This is the eleventh pattern in the Souvenir Skeins collection - inspired by the places we visit, and designed for those special skeins that make their way home with us. Each pattern will use just one or two skeins to make the perfect stash buster for all your most treasured yarns!
I designed this pattern for my first trip to Rhinebeck in 2023! Technically called the New York Sheep and Wool Festival, this is a huge event that attracts yarnies from around the world to come and pet cute sheep, shop gorgeous yarns and accessories, and meet other like-minded makers! It started as a simple sketch: a triangle shawl with vertical stripes on one side, and horizontal stripes on the other. I thought it would be a simple design to work out, but I was definitely mistaken! It took a while to perfect, but I’m thrilled with the results. This shawl uses two skeins of sock weight yarn, making it ideal for those perfect skeins you’ll find at your own local festival!
Pattern is written in US crochet terms.
