I love the color of the roses outside my office window and am always disappointed to see them lose their petals at the end of the season. Then again, this natural process makes way for new buds in the spring. The deep, rich color of this shawl is adorned with rows of simple lace “buds” throughout. The moderately loose gauge expands and drapes beautifully with blocking, making it large enough to wrap double for extra warmth.

Knit from the smallest point to the far edge, Fallen Petals is worked with staggered increases along one edge. The result is a shape somewhere between an elongated triangle and a boomerang. The lace insert will inspire light focus, without slowing your progress.
