“In this pattern the 2 travelling units are the Increase (Over) and the 2 stationary units the Decrease, which are united to form 1 Double Decrease. … Diamonds can be created on this plan to any size, by increasing the number of stitches between the unit and correspondingly the number of rows. Also the centre of the diamond need not be solid, but decorated with Eyelets, and so make the fabric very open and lace-like.”
