This is a top-down, leafy hat that can be knit with less than one skein of Malabrigo, or another worsted weight yarn.

Check your gauge. I’ve knit the hat on both sz 7 and sz 8 needles with no discernible difference in stitch gauge, but with a small difference in row gauge. Go for the smaller needles if you like a more fitted hat, or the larger needles if you like a slouchier hat.
