Falling Leaves Socks
Who doesn’t love a crisp fall day? The air has lost summer’s humidity, the trees are decked out in shades of red, orange, umber, and gold, the sun casts a gentle glow on the Earth, and leaves tumble from the sky and litter the ground.
I’ve always loved fall, so I wanted to create the perfect pattern to evoke the feeling of watching leaves fall from the trees on a glorious autumn day. These Falling Leaves socks will remind you of pulling out the hand-knits for the first time in months, of sipping hot cups of tea on the porch, and of the soft breeze sending leaves cascading into your path.
This sock is knit cuff down and includes instructions for a heel flap and gusset. The intricate-looking falling leaves motif is surprisingly easy, especially with the detailed instructions included in the pattern.
This pattern details one size, with a 64 stitch cast on. It is available in two versions: Standard, which has numerous pictures, including those detailing how to achieve the leaf motif, and a Printer Friendly version, which includes detailed instructions but no images.
